Center for Research in Relationships and De-escalation

The Center for Research in Relationships and De-escalation is a research center that focuses on the regional research strategy's visions of user participation, active utilization of research, and direct dissemination of knowledge for teaching activities in the region.

The research is interdisciplinary and takes place with the people the research deals with, e.g. people with lived experience in psychiatry, their relatives, clinical staff, and students undergoing training.

The research methods are often inspired by action research and qualitative approaches. The center involves other forms of research when necessary and in close cooperation with other centers in the psychiatric research unit.

The focus areas are related to suffering and other areas within the field of mental health nursing, including interventions that address the prevention of critical incidents such as coercion, self-harm, and suicide. Other areas are user-participatory research, liason, recovery orientation in practice, organizational care interventions, e.g. Safewards and Trauma Informed Access (TBT), and technological solutions.
